Cara Crawford-Bartle, M.D., specializes in family medicine and sees patients of all ages at MidMichigan Medical Offices - Beaverton.
Philosophy of Care
“I love family medicine because of the variety,” Dr. Crawford-Bartle said. “It sounds cliché, but no two patients are alike and no two days are the same. The relationships that can be formed in family medicine between a physician and a patient are second to none.”
“I like to focus on shared decision making, working with a patient to determine the best plan of care for him or her. Without buy-in from all parties, a treatment plan won’t work in the long-term. When designing a treatment plan, I look for therapies that will minimize side effects while maximizing the benefits for that particular patient.”
“The most satisfying part of my job is seeing a patient achieve his or her goal, whatever that may be.”
“Aside from my own unique personality, what sets me apart is my ability to admit when I don’t know something. I think this lends itself to a better quality of care overall. If I don’t know the answer, I’m not afraid to look it up so that I know I’m providing the best care possible. If you choose me as your physician, you can feel confident that I am giving 100 percent effort at all times.”
“I think the most fascinating area of study in medicine right now is in the field of preventive medicine. I love focusing on simple lifestyle changes – such as brushing one’s teeth twice a day – that can make huge impacts down the road.”
In her spare time, Dr. Crawford-Bartle enjoys being with her family, preferably outside on a warm and sunny day. She and her husband, Darren, have four young children and a dog.
“When given the opportunity, I like to mountain bike, downhill ski, and snowboard. Recently, I’ve also gotten into gardening. As our kids get older, my husband and I hope to do more traveling and camping as well.”
