Biography
Zahraa Kassem, M.D., is excited to join MyMichigan Pediatrics in Alma. As an experienced pediatrician, she is looking forward to the opportunity to be a part of a child’s growth and development, from infancy through adolescence.
“I chose pediatrics because there’s something magical about working with children—their resilience, their boundless curiosity and their ability to trust in the goodness of the world,” says Dr. Kassem.

Dr. Kassem believes in providing care that goes beyond just treating illness. It’s about fostering trust, listening deeply and supporting both children and families through every step of the healthcare journey with kindness and respect.

I want to be someone who not only treats illness but nurtures futures, one child at a time.”
Special Interests and Procedures
Dr. Kassem has extensive experience in neonatal care, specializing in critical care for newborns and neonatal intensive care unit procedures. “I’m passionate about supporting families through the challenges of early life care, ensuring that each newborn receives the highest level of attention and compassion,” says Dr. Kassem.
